No chemicals. Just glue with no smell. If I could do chemicles I would be done by now.

Veneer day is here! I am going to attempt to apply the beautiful new veneer Steve sent me. Vertical grain on the front and sides. I may add a few roofing nails to secure it... Or maybe glue Icon_lol

Stoopit curved veneer, Every time I glue that one front corner the layer on top of the layer I just glued separates. So this is the last layer to glue and then it is veneer time!

I even used Rons removed veneer to repair mikes veneer issue on his little radio!
Now they are connected for life Icon_mrgreen

Man this thing is chipped to heck!
3 runs and still have about 3 to go.
This is the worst side with large chip all down the back.
Prepped, slathered in glue, fitted with oversized veneer, and clamped tight.

No more clamps so no more work on cabinets...

Looks like you are making good progress Kirk. I have stayed away from trying to fix the chipped edges. After seeing what you are doing I may give it a try on next one I run into. Good luck

Oh lord!
Someone shoot me. I finished the first veneer sanding on the side but there is an issue. the reused veneer from the top which is a match is too dark! I cant figure it out. I tried matching it but nothing so far and unless the cabinet is medium briwn then it will not match. I think I am going to have to use wood bleach but i want to try and strip it first.
I dont get it.... Why would it do that?

Call me confused  Icon_thumbdown Icon_rolleyes

There is a darn hurricane outside right now so that stinks too.....

...doesn't look that bad to me...but I know things do not always look the same in a photo as they do in real life...

That's weird! The veneer pieces didn't look nearly that dark in your previous photo...

Exactly!
I did wipe them down with a moist rag so that might have aided the darkness in the photo but it should not loo like that.
No worries Ron, I will fix it.

using bleack is working.
I carefully apply it to the repair and let it sit for 30 minutes. Then re-apply. this pic is after 3 coats.
I thought it would smell but hardly any odor.

Kirk, are you using wood bleach or the same stuff you wash your tidy whities with?

I am trying regular bleach before buying wood bleach.
