Philco 70
#1

The set is available in the average condition. Do not have any pictures to post. There is nothing special about it except for one thing -the outer front edge (from the left tower top to the right one) is completely flat, no usual grooves. Is it very early version?

There were two versions of the 70 but the cabinets look the same. Are you referring to the profile of the outer edge of the arch? There were some slight variations of this profile from one cabinet to the next but none were completely flat that I know of. Is there any way you can post a picture?

Steve,

Unfortunately, I can't post a picture. You are correct, it is an outer edge of the arch.It is actually very slightly curved, bot no grooves, which are usually there, I believe 3 of them.

Maybe someone sanded it down in an earlier refinish? Regardless of how early it may be, the 70 cabinet was already configured with the 21. So if there were an early variation in that cabinet it should have shown up on early 21's rather than a 70.

You might be right, after all.
