Shock Mounting for 41-280 et al
#1

Does anyone know a source for those rubber(?) corner feet used by Philco on their chassis? Also, what about a source for those rubber shock mount screws and spacers for things like the push button frame, etc? I did a search here and didn't come up with anything. Thanks in advance!

Try this web site for rubber parts: http://www.renovatedradios.com/parts.html . Radio Daze is also good for other parts you mentioned.

For replacing the "flat-type" rubber grommets, check the plumbing dept at Lowes, Home Depot,& your local hdwe type stores. The old-style flat neoprene faucet washers will sub and last forever. You may have to cut the center-hole abit larger, but the (neoprene rubber) will work, can be easily modified, and last alot longer than gum-type flat type rubber replacements. For "authenticity" and special-fit purposes, much better to use the avail repros indeed!!

Excellent ideas and thank you! The website that mandh posted is an excellent resource that I didn't know about.

I can't seem to find the shock mounts in the picture below, though. I went and checked some hardware outlets like Texasrocker recommends and I found metal washers with integral rubber mounted to them that I think will work for one of those washer styles. I also found plain neoprene washers that I could probably stack to get the right thickness for the other washer shown. I'm not trying to get letter perfect with this one in terms of authenticity, but I would like to try and maintain factory spacing and dimensions.

Any other ideas where I might be able to find these?

I use rubber grommets from Home Depot/Lowe's.

Kind regards,

jhadhar65, hi. You might try two flat rubber/neoprene washers and a sliver of rubber/neoprene tubing through hole/around mounting screw. PL

Will a standard rubber grommet not work as a replacement for the grommet in the photo? I know the big box home improvement stores have rubber grommets in drawers in the hardware section and many local hardware stores have an even larger selection. The metal eyelet that appears to be present in the original can be removed, cleaned up and re-used with the new grommet. That's what I always do anyway.
